As set out by the Queensland Music Teachers Association

a) 30 minute lessons are invoiced at $40.00 excl. GST and travel costs where applicable.

b) 45 minute lessons are invoiced at $60 excl. GST and travel costs where applicable.

c) 60 minute lessons are invoiced at $80 excl. GST and travel costs where applicable.

d) TEACHERS should send an invoice before the first billable lesson of each period, payable within seven days of the invoice date. Lessons will not proceed until payment is received. 

e) LESSONS will be one on one in all instances unless prior arrangements (duo, group) have been made with the teacher. Parents/guardians of students are welcome to stay during the lesson. Students will be allocated a secure place to wait on the premises
while waiting for their lesson to begin, and while waiting to be picked up. 

f) TUITION during school terms will be invoiced in five or ten consecutive weekly lesson blocks. HOLIDAYS: Lessons will be suspended during holiday periods, unless an arrangement is made at the teachers discretion. PUBLIC HOLIDAYS: If lessons land on public holidays, t hey will proceed as normal unless stated otherwise by the teacher. 

g) SPECIAL arrangements can be made for ongoing lessons beyond the 10 week school term cycle, at the teachers discretion. 

h) FEES are payable within seven days of the date-of-invoice. If, at any point, you are having difficulty paying, please contact the teacher immediately to make an arrangement.

i) LESSONS missed through the student’s non-attendance will be charged for, unless the circumstances in the teacher’s opinion warrant a special concession. Lessons cancelled by the teacher will be rescheduled, refunded, or credited, depending on the students preference.

j) It is the students responsibility to give prior notification to the Teacher of any absences. If a student is sick and unable to attend a lesson, the teacher must be notified no later than 5pm the previous day, preferably via email.

k) PROGRESS REPORTS are to be made available upon request.

l) EXAMINATIONS AND COMPETITIONS: The teacher will not enter the student for any examinations or competitions without the student’s consent; the teacher’s opinion as to what examinations and competitions are suitable at each state of the student’s progress should be accepted by the student and the parent.

m) Except in cases of sudden emergency (e.g. illness), the teacher is expected to give 5 weeks notice of their inability to accept students in the following term.
