I am a Brisbane based musician and producer. I picked up the guitar at the age of 12 after discovering classic rock through my Dad. The sounds that came from the guitar in the hands of Jimi Hendrix, David Gilmour, Mark Knopfler and Stevie Ray Vaughan sparked an in-extinguishable excitement in me and still do to this day. My music taste currently revolves around jazz, rock, fusion, funk, soul, R&B, metal, prog-rock, classic rock, classic pop, shoegaze, grunge, alt-rock, ambient, soundtracks and classical music.

Throughout high school I gained momentum on the guitar, under the tutelage of John Freiberg, Jose McLaughlin, and Gerard Mapstone. I completed the CPM Stage 4 AMEB exam for guitar and grade 5 AMEB theory, played in the jazz-band for 4 years, joined the Young Conservatorium big-band, and formed a rock-band called Dronechild. It was in these formative years where I was encouraged to start recording music, a skill that I love and use extensively to this day.
Those early foundations laid the groundwork for my first professional band after high school called Baskervillain. We achieved success in Brisbane, garnering a reputation as one of Brisbane’s must-see live acts, and toured the east-coast of Australia twice. We often switched instruments and that was when I began playing bass as well.
A few years after leaving school, I had the insatiable itch to unravel the myteries of the fretboard, so I enrolled at the Jazz Music Institute, and completed my Bachelor of Music in Jazz Performance in 2018 with honours. Throughout my time there, I began gigging as a freelance jazz guitarist in various combos and ensembles, which is where my love for playing improvised music bloomed. After leaving JMI I taught guitar, bass, and ukulele at the Guitar Gym for 3 years, maintaining a roster of over 40 students per week with a diverse range of backgrounds, ages, skill levels and interests.
Currently I play in the bands Mosspaw and KRUNJ, and produce our music from my home studio. I play freelance improv gigs and jazz gigs around Brisbane, while also teaching at Ambrose Treacy College in Indooroopilly.
Teaching is a passion of mine. I love helping people improve and watching them push themselves to become the musician they want to be. Thanks for getting to know a bit about me – I hope to be able to help you with your musical ambitions soon.
